Description

Sean Poynter (SP) signature model.

The ultra high-performance board for medium to large surf. Ideal for waves that have more curvature and power to them. This board was created to be the high performance step up from the SP25 and allows you to push your rail turns, top turns and airs as much as possible with the least resistance.

With a narrower outline, increased rocker, pinched rails and a slightly stiffer fin set up, this board is made for speed, control and next-level surfing. The SP24 is Sean Poynter’s go-to board for doing his best surfing in mid to larger size surf.

**Pads and fins sold separately
We believe surfers should setup their boards the way that suits their style best. Pad or wax, quad or thruster, bond with your board and customize to your liking.

Ultralight Ripper

I have the 8’1” SP24 at 104L. At 6’3” and 205lbs, I find it to be a remarkably buoyant and stable platform compared to many other boards I’ve owned (and there have been many, many over the last 12 years). Works best for me on cleaner days, but still manageable to stand on when it gets a little lumpy (I hate sitting or kneeling in the lineup). Ridden it in everything from knee high to overhead surf and it’s fast down the line, holds a rail, and is easy to snap. For whatever reason, it seems to work best for me as a thruster rather than a quad in normal surf, but the quad setup holds a bottom turn really (too) well if you’re trying to get down the line on a large hollow wave. This construction is ultralight compared to other boards of similar size (13lbs w/deck pad), and that has me a little worried about the durability, but so far it hasn’t been a problem. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to an intermediate-advanced rider, and might suggest they can go a little smaller than they imagine if they’re looking for higher performance on the wave, but size it up a little if you want a little more glide into your takeoff and/or are an intermediate paddler.
